If you haven’t noticed already I’m slimming down my site. No more bulky space-hogging content (like myself). I’ve decided to take my site with me around the track when I run.

Hope you enjoy the slimmer look!

ALL IS WELL! johndball.com transferred to new domain host

Somebody injected some encrypted scripts into my website redirecting users to malware sites. Even after moving my blog to my new host I noticed that the lingering code was still there because no-script for Firefox was preventing the redirection.

Thanks to Blaize, and a few hours of Skype, we, or should I say he, resolved the issue. I reinstalled WordPress from scratch this time NOT exporting my settings and manually installing, from the WordPress repository, all new plugins.

Something survived the export/import and this was the only way to fix it. After a brand new database creation, database migration, new WordPress installation, manual post importation, some innovation, Blaize’s delegation, and a lot of aggravation we finally had success!

(I bet you thought I was going to say liberation)

This all seems to stem from some type of data breach at Blaize’s host, bluehost.com. A web search of “bluehost.com hack” will return many results on this topic. Blaize.net is down at the time of this posting as he too is moving hosts.

The guys over at XDA did it again! Much thanks! They even wrote a batch file script for it too.

Android HC 3.2 for Asus TF out: it sucks

Asus announced Android 3.2 via their twitter post. Still not showing up on my tablet yet as of 12 noon CST.

UPDATE: Well the update finally showed up and I updated to the latest firmware. It sucks. 3.2 doesn’t address any of the problems I was experiencing AND there is no hack for it yet so I’m out superuser access for now. Why would I want Linux with no SU access? What happened to the good old days when device owners had SU and admin access right out of the box?

Very lame Asus/Google. Very lame.

Ran 4.72 mi before coming to work tonight. I would have recorded a further distance but my iPhone died on the last interval with .21 mi to go.

It was an outstanding run! Now I’m downing a smoothie from Smoothie King. Yum!!!
