“An unexpected error has occurred in Blue Iris Login. If you wish to report the error, please SCREENSHOT the browser now.”
I recently ran into an issue with my Blue Iris 4.8.6.3 during my preparation to migrate to Blue Iris 5. Luckily it wasn’t anything to do with Blue Iris and it came down to the Malwarebytes browser security extension for Firefox and Chrome. Unfortunately the timing was bad because I installed the MBAM extension on a synced browser which replicated to the computer I was prepping the Blue Iris migration on and I chased my tail thinking it was a Blue Iris problem.
If you’re running MBAM or other browser security extensions, check those first before attempting to repair or modify your server back end. Try a browser with no extensions loaded (safe mode) or a different browser that you don’t normally use, such as Firefox Portable, to rule out browser issues before troubleshooting server-side problems.
- Your MBAM browser extension will show blue if the site is being monitored/protected by MBAM. Left click on this extension and click on the three dots.
- Add your site to the URL or IP address box. I tested each of the four “disable protections” options and found that I had to disable the “Scams” function.
- Once I disabled that function for my Blue Iris server, I refreshed the page and my cameras loaded without issue.
